1. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with KrishnaLand, we may collect the following categories of personal data.

1.1 Information you provide directly

  • Identity and contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, WhatsApp number, country, city and postal address.
  • Booking and transaction information, such as the date and time of your visit, ticket type, number of visitors, group or school details, order number, transaction status, discounts, refunds and purchase history.
  • Payment-related information. Payments may be processed by an independent payment provider. We generally receive confirmation, payment status and limited transaction details rather than your complete card, bank or UPI credentials.
  • Enquiry and communication information, including messages sent through forms, email, telephone, WhatsApp or social media; customer-support requests; feedback; survey responses; and any attachments you choose to provide.
  • Group, school and event information, such as organisation name, group size, age range, preferred schedule, language needs and operational requirements.
  • Accessibility or special-assistance information that you voluntarily provide so that we can support your visit. Please provide only information that is reasonably necessary. Where this information is treated as sensitive personal data, we process it only when permitted by law.
  • Marketing preferences, including whether you wish to receive news, offers and event updates and how you prefer to be contacted.
  • User-provided content, such as photographs, videos, testimonials, competition entries, reviews or social-media content that you submit to us or authorise us to use.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you use the Site, we and our authorised service providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • browser type, device type, operating system, language and screen characteristics;
  • pages viewed, links selected, referring and exit pages, dates, times and session duration;
  • cookie identifiers, consent preferences and similar online identifiers;
  • diagnostic, security, error and performance information; and
  • information about interactions with embedded media, ticketing tools, maps, social-media features or other Site functionality.

1.3 Information from third parties

We may receive personal data from providers that help us operate the Services, including ticketing and reservation platforms, payment processors, analytics providers, email and customer-support services, social-media platforms, event partners and fraud-prevention services. We may also receive information when another person books on your behalf. The person making the booking should ensure that they are authorised to provide the other visitors’ details.

We do not intentionally collect more personal data than is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

2. How and why we use personal data

We may use personal data to:

  • process ticket purchases, reservations, refunds and admission;
  • organise group, school, corporate and private visits;
  • provide confirmations, reminders, operational notices and customer support;
  • respond to questions, requests, complaints and accessibility needs;
  • administer events, promotions, surveys and visitor experiences;
  • personalise and improve the Site, content, attractions and visitor journey;
  • measure Site performance, understand audience engagement and produce aggregated statistics;
  • protect visitors, staff, systems and transactions; detect fraud, misuse, security incidents and unlawful activity;
  • send marketing communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law;
  • manage our business operations, records, accounting and internal reporting;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
  • comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, public-health, safety and law-enforcement obligations.

We may aggregate or de-identify information so that it no longer reasonably identifies an individual. We may use and disclose such information for legitimate business, research and statistical purposes, subject to applicable law.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The Site may use cookies, pixels, local storage, tags and similar technologies. These technologies may be used for:

  • Strictly necessary purposes: security, network management, ticketing, shopping-cart functions, consent records and core Site operation.
  • Preferences and functionality: remembering language, display and other choices.
  • Analytics and performance: understanding visits, traffic, errors and how the Site is used.
  • Advertising and social media: measuring campaigns, enabling embedded content and supporting relevant communications, where used and legally permitted.

Where required, non-essential technologies are used only after you make a choice through our cookie banner or preference centre. You may change your choices at any time through the Cookie Settings link on the Site. You may also control cookies through your browser, although blocking necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Services from working correctly.

Some pages may include content or functions provided by Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, WhatsApp or other third parties. Those providers may collect information, place cookies or recognise you according to their own privacy terms, particularly if you are signed in to their services. We do not control their independent processing.

We respond to legally recognised opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, where required by applicable law and technically relevant to our processing.

5. When we disclose personal data

We may disclose personal data only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Service providers and processors that support hosting, website operation, ticketing, payment processing, email delivery, communications, customer support, analytics, security, fraud prevention, marketing, surveys, cloud storage and professional services.
  • Event, attraction and business partners where needed to fulfil a booking, organise a programme or provide a service that you request.
  • Professional advisers, including lawyers, accountants, auditors and insurers.
  • Authorities and other parties for legal or safety reasons when required by law, legal process or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security and property.
  • Parties to a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, reorganisation, sale of assets or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
  • Other recipients at your direction or with your consent.

Service providers may process personal data only for the services they provide to us and under appropriate contractual and security obligations, except where they act as independent controllers under applicable law.

We do not sell personal data for monetary consideration. Certain analytics, advertising or social-media technologies may be considered a “sale”, “sharing” or targeted advertising under some laws even when no money changes hands. Where such laws apply, we provide the required notice and opt-out mechanism. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal data of children or teenagers in violation of applicable law.

6. International data transfers

KrishnaLand is based in India, and our providers or partners may process personal data in India and other countries. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your location.

Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms and appropriate safeguards, which may include adequacy decisions, approved contractual clauses, data-processing agreements and supplementary technical or organisational measures. You may contact us to request information about the safeguards relevant to your data.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain accurate records, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Retention periods depend on the nature and sensitivity of the data, the purpose of processing, risk and applicable law.

As a general operational guide:

Category Typical retention period
Booking, payment and accounting records For the legally required accounting and tax period, generally up to 8 years unless a longer period is required
General enquiries and support correspondence Up to 24 months after the matter is closed
Group, school and event enquiries not converted into a booking Up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction
Marketing contact data Until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, plus a minimal suppression record to respect your choice
Cookie consent records and analytics data According to the configured tool and applicable law, generally no longer than 26 months
Security and technical logs Generally up to 12 months, unless required for an investigation, legal claim or security purpose
Promotional media and releases For the stated campaign or licence period, or until consent is withdrawn where consent is the legal basis and withdrawal is legally effective

We may retain information longer when necessary for litigation, investigation, fraud prevention, a legal hold or another lawful requirement. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymise or securely isolate it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. These measures may include access controls, encryption in transit, service-provider review, backups, monitoring and staff confidentiality obligations.

No website, transmission or storage system is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting any account credentials and for using secure communication methods when sending sensitive information. If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we will assess it and notify affected individuals and authorities when required by law.

9. Children’s privacy

KrishnaLand is a family-oriented destination, but the Site and online booking Services are intended to be used by adults. A parent, legal guardian, teacher or other authorised adult should make bookings and submit information for children.

We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from a child without the consent or other authorisation required by applicable law. Where Indian law applies, this may include verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian for a person under 18. Where United States law applies, we do not knowingly collect online personal information from a child under 13 in a manner governed by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act without verifiable parental consent.

If you believe a child has provided personal data without the required authorisation, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10. Photography and video at KrishnaLand

Photography or filming may take place at attractions and events for security, documentation, news or promotional purposes. Where appropriate, we provide notices at the venue or event. For planned promotional use that focuses on an identifiable individual, we seek permission or rely on another lawful basis as required. Parents or guardians must provide any permission required for identifiable images of children.

If you have a concern about an image featuring you or a child for whom you are responsible, contact us with enough detail to locate the material. We will review the request in light of the purpose of use, applicable law and the rights of others.

11. Your privacy rights

Your rights depend on your location and the law that applies to our processing. Subject to legal conditions and exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • obtain information about whether and how we process your personal data;
  • request access to, and a copy or summary of, your personal data;
  • correct inaccurate data and complete or update incomplete data;
  • request deletion or erasure;
  • withdraw consent;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • receive certain data in a portable format;
  • opt out of direct marketing, targeted advertising, or the sale or sharing of personal data;
  • limit certain uses of sensitive personal data;
  • nominate another person to exercise rights on your behalf where Indian law provides that right;
  • lodge a grievance with us and, where available, complain to the competent data-protection authority; and
  • receive equal service and pricing without unlawful discrimination for exercising a privacy right.

For individuals in India, applicable rights may include access to a summary of personal data and processing activities, correction, completion, updating, erasure, grievance redressal, withdrawal of consent and nomination in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules.

For individuals in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, applicable rights may include access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent, as well as the right to complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work or where the alleged infringement occurred.

For California residents, rights may include the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive non-discriminatory treatment, to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us.

To exercise a right, email krishnaland360@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy Request”. Describe your request and identify the relationship or transaction involved. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. An authorised representative may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorisation and direct verification with you.

We respond within the period required by applicable law. Some rights are not absolute, and we may lawfully deny or limit a request. If so, we will explain the reason and any available appeal or complaint process.

12. Marketing communications

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the link in the message or by contacting us. For SMS or WhatsApp marketing, follow the opt-out instructions in the message or tell us to stop. Opting out of marketing does not prevent us from sending transactional or service messages relating to a booking, safety, policy change or request.

13. Automated decision-making

We do not currently use personal data to make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. If that changes, we will provide any notice, explanation and rights required by law.

14. Third-party sites and services

The Site may link to ticketing, payment, social-media, map, messaging or other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices. We encourage you to review those notices before providing personal data. A link or integration does not mean that we control or endorse the third party’s privacy practices.

15. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our Services, technology, providers, legal obligations or processing practices. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal data, we will provide additional notice or request consent where required.
